Recently I was sent the Sheer Cover Duo Concealer from Sheer Cover in my Spring Beauty VoxBox.

Here's what they say about their product:

Sheer Cover Duo Concealer

Sheer Cover® Concealer is perfect for all skin types and tones.  Our concealer is a customer favorite offering a custom blend for the various shades on your face and covers up imperfections.  It not only covers up the look of dark circles, blemishes, redness and age spots, it also moisturizes with Jojoba and Allantoin.

It instantly conceals blemishes, dark spots, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone – we’ve got life’s little imperfections covered!

Instantly covers skin imperfections for a flawless, natural look
Variable coverage – sheer and creamy perfect for under eye circles or more opaque for blemishes, dark spots and hyperpigmentation
Easy application  – glides on, won’t pull or tug at fragile skin
Enriched with natural, moisturizing Jojoba to help nourish and restore the skins’ natural moisture balance
Allantoin helps calm and soothe sensitive, irritated skin
Provides antioxidant protection from free-radical scavengers

Using fingertips, concealer brush or a cosmetic sponge dab a small amount of concealer on area to be covered. Blend well. Start sheer, adding layers to increase coverage. Wear alone, under or over makeup. Let dry before applying makeup.

Here's what I say:

I was originally asked what my skin tone was and I chose Fair/Medium. As you can see the pot comes with two colors, that way you have a choice of mixing if need be. The concealer itself is very creamy and smooth, which is nice. I dotted it onto my trouble areas for a little extra coverage. While I do enjoy the texture and it covers well at first it doesn't stick around for me. A few hours after application the concealer was melting and flaking away, making the areas I wanted to conceal even more noticeable than before. It was also very hard to blend it back into my skin which was frustrating as I didn't care to walk around with beyond noticeable spots on my face. I'm also not 100% sure that the lighter color is even a match to my skin tone and the darker of the two is too dark and leans pink on me. In some lights the lighter color looked okay, while in others it was noticeably yellow. I really wanted this to work for me, but I think between the mix of my skin tone and skin composition (oily to combination) it just wasn't meant to be. That's not to say that it won't work for other people, but for me it is a bust. Sadly this is pretty common place as I have a hard skin tone to match.

You can purchase Sheer Cover Duo Concealer for $29.95 (non member price) or you can join and get the introductory package for $29.95 which also includes the concealer.

  1. My sister swears by Sheer Cover products. I've never been a fan, so this review doesn't surprise me. I find that it literally melts off my face and leaves a terrible greasy, sticky feeling. But I'm a fellow pasty, pale girl, and I have trouble finding decent concealer and foundation matches anyway.
