Decor: Something new out of something old

Nate and I are right in the middle of refinishing an old cabinet, which we use to hold our wine glasses and such. It's been around the block once or twice and we set out to update it. It's been a work in progress and I promise I will be posting about it once everything is done on it. For now I want to talk about the "accessories".

With the new colors, we're taking it from stained wood to painted wood, we wanted to get rid of the gold plated handles and hinges. After a night in Home Depot we found some great replacements for the hinges. May I say that it's very exciting that I could pay $5 for 4 hinges instead of trying to spray paint them the color I wanted. I had this image of me trying to keep them from sealing shut with the paint. So yay for cheap replacements!

The next step is the door handles. I want something that stands out a bit, so of course I went straight to the Anthropologie online store. At first I was going to match the green color that we used on the inside and quickly decided against that. I'm thinking clear is the best way to go.

Just to give an idea I'll post the colors we're using:

Behr "Stone Hearth"- outside color

Behr "Southern Breeze"- inside color

Here are the options we have found for the handles so far.

Prism Knob from Anthropologie.com

Cocktail Ring Knob from Anthropologie.com

Mercury Glass Melon Knob from Anthropologie.com

Bubbled Glass Knob from Anthropologie.com

Full Carat Knob from Anthropologie.com

Cabinet Carat Knob from Anthropologie.com

All of these would work perfectly, it's just a matter of choosing the right one. What are your thoughts? If you have any other ideas let me know, I always love outside opinions!
